So my parents were reading through USA Today the other day and came across an advertisement. It's for a hotel and has a picture of a kid jumping into a pool. My mom was convinced that it was Caleb - in fact it looks exactly like him. Everyone has a twin and this is Caleb's! Anyway - the kid in this picture is probably a 37 year old hobo by now...

Also, we forgot it was picture day this year - when you forget that it's picture day -here is what the pictures end up looking like....

Seriously, like 3 months. Usually I'm being a little tongue in cheek when I talk about a quarterly update- but this time it's really true. Anyway - as usual I'll let some pics do the talking. There have been some cool events since I last posted... like Christmas. that was good. then Chase and I took a trip to Pittsburgh. I decided when Caleb was 5 that I would do a little one on one trip with each of my kids at certain intervals in their lives. Just as a chance to connect and make some memories. Caleb and I went to Chicago when he was 5 and Chase and I went to Pittsburgh. It was really cool. Here are a few pics so you can check out the fam and my cute kids!

We had a trip to NYC that was pretty cool - it seems like forever ago because we came right back to Dave and Danielle's wedding and it seems like it's been a blur since then. It was great to connect with Matt and Kristin Donovan again too - they stayed at our place during the weekend of the wedding. Matt took some great pics of the fam at our place which I've posted. This will be a good but crazy week - I'm trying to get a bunch of stuff done before my very long vacation after Christmas. I'll actually be out of the office for like 16 days in a row. I've accumulated a ton of unused vacation time this year because it's been so busy and now I have to use it all up at once. It will be the longest break from work in the last 13 years. That's really weird to think about. Anyway - I haven't posted in a while and wanted to get some pics up from NYC and from Matt's weekend with us. Peace out.

Fall Happenings

It's been a great fall so far. Albeit very busy and stressful at work with the construction project underway. Things are cool at home. Caleb is in a basketball league (his first attempt at organized sports). Ayden just had her second birthday last week. And Chase is just generally cute. Yeah not really. We got back from FLA last week and it was an amazing trip - cool time to connect with Kim first of all. It's amazing how much you lose touch with three kids and how much you are absolutely controlled by your schedule and their schedule. This was the first vacation I can remember in a long time when we just really didn't have anything to do except get spoiled with 5 star treatment for 5 days. It was awesome. We stayed at the World Golf Village (www.wgv.com) and it was amazing. Yes and we did win the golf tournament but it did involve taking our handicaps into consideration, so as my friend Jim said, "it's like winning the special olympics of golf." All right - it's not that bad - but it's funny how people think I'm like a world class golfer because of it - and that's really not the case.

Our vacation was cool - we got back late Saturday night - we had a blast in DC for three days and then Williamsburg for three days. It was good to get home though. Here are some pics -from left to right - 1) the fam in front of the Capitol, 2) everyone with my brother Brandon and his girlfriend Rosa, 3) the kids at a really cool playground near our condo, 4) Chase in the pool, 5) Kim and Ayden in the pool, and 6) Caleb in the ocean in Roanoke, VA. Ask me about the trip back and the funny thing that we saw coming through West Virginia.

I'm taking a once in a lifetime kind of trip this Wednesday - I'm heading out to Chicago for one day to play in a golf tournament with PGA pros at the John Deere Classic. I'm playing in a ProAm event where a bunch of amatuer golfers get to play along side the professionals for a round. My friend Jim who works at a large bank in Chicago hooked me up with the spot. It's going to be cool.

OK - listen I got called out on Donovan's site a while ago and decided to oblige in one of these things just for kicks.

Well here we go - my quarterly update to my Xanga site. Now that I have all this free time on my hands since the vote went well last night - I think I'll update some pictures on my site so you can all see what's been going on with my family lately. Today was Kim's birthday and we had a cool time together this evening. I got her some new clothes and stuff at TJ Maxx and she actually loved everything I got her. After 15 years of marriage I think I'm finally getting the hang of exactly what she likes!

Things at work have been nuts for literally the last 3 months with all the stuff going down. I'm not going to pretend that it's not going to continue to be hard and stressful in the months ahead, but I feel like a huge weight has been lifted off my back now that the vote is behind us. The church is pumped and I'm pumped to move ahead.

Ayden got sick yesterday and has been miserable. It's weird because I actually have a much more difficult time seeing her sick than I did with either of the boys. I think it's that father/daughter thing. There is a whole new level of protectiveness that kicks in. It's really strange. I'm taking a couple of days off this week to account for the craziness in my schedule lately. My whole fam is excited to have me home. I'm preaching the second part of a two week series this Saturday night. The first week actually went really well - I was happy with it - I sensed God really connecting with people through it all. Had a lot of feedback and emails about it.

Anyway, this first set of pics is from a couple of weekends ago when my roomate from college, Lance, and his family visited. It was way cool to see them and have our kids play together. I remember sitting in our dorm room thinking about the day that we would be adults and probably married, and having real jobs, and we would visit each other and our kids would play together. That day seemed so far off - and it was bizarre to actually have it happen a couple of weeks ago. Life is fast like that. Most of the pics are down at the creek behind our house.

I'm also including some pictures of Caleb at the Asthma olympics last weekend - he got first place and was just ecstactic!
